Option 1: Alliant Energy Online Payments
By logging in: Before you can make an online payment for your account balance with Alliant Energy, you will need to register for online access through the company’s website. This can be done at the . From there, you can log in to your account by following these instructions:
- Go to any page on the alliantenergy.com website
- Click the link at the top of the page that says “Log In To My Account”
- Enter your user ID and Password
- Click the “Log In” button
- Go to Pay My Bill
- Select a payment amount
- Input your payment information
- Submit the bill pay transaction
No Login: For online payments without needing an account setup, simply go to and follow the instructions on the screen to complete your bill payment.
Option 2: Pay Alliant Energy through the Mail
To make a payment on your Alliant Energy account through the mail, you will need to send a cashier’s check, personal check or a money order to one of the addresses listed below. You cannot send cash for this payment. When preparing your payment method, write your account number on the face of the check or money order as well, then send it to the address that corresponds to the state you live in:

Option 3: Alliant Energy Payments over the Phone
If you would like to make a payment on your Alliant Energy account balance over the phone, you may do so through the company’s Automated Speech System customer service line, which is available by dialing (800) 255-4268. When calling, have your account number available and go through the main menu to the billing option and then go to the ways to pay section. From there, follow the prompts the complete your pay by phone transaction.
Option 4: Automatic Payments for Alliant Energy
Automatic payments for an Alliant Energy account will mean that your payment is withdrawn every month from your account without any additional input or actions required from you. To set up an automatic bill payment for your account with Alliant Energy, go to the and sign in with the information that you created during account registration. Then, go to the Automatic Payment section and follow the on-screen instructions to get signed up for the service.
